Hello! I have a similar problem, but it seems like it's more persistent. Running cmake, make, sudo make install, I finally get this output: ... I'm quite lost, but it seems like a really minor problem, eg: the gabor 'block' is not registered in the block factory or similar. I don't know if this will be the solution but here is a suggestion which seems to be working on my Mac if you are using csh or tcsh, put the line setenv MPTK_CONFIG_FILENAME <what is needed> in /Users/melot/.cshrc [on bash I suppose you must replace this by export MPTK_CONFIG_FILENAME=<what is needed> in /Users/melot/.bashrc or .bash_profile or .profile] Then, when you launch Matlab, if you type getenv('MPTK_CONFIG_FILENAME') it should return the desired value. The value set in your .cshrc will also be accessible from any application launched from a terminal. Best regards, Remi. |

Thank you for your anwser. The point is that if I use a terminal, then Matlab is launched in the terminal, and I can no more use the graphic options. I will see if it can be done in a startup file. Thank you once again with best Clothilde |

Hi, You cannot use all shell commands from inside Matlab, only a few of them. Your environment should be configured before starting Matlab. Have you tried setting the environment in a terminal, then launching Matlab from the same terminal? There must also be a way to have the setenv done automatically at startup, so that you don't have to bother anymore, but I don't know how it works on a mac. You'd better ask a mac user helpdesk about it. Regards, Boris |

Dear MPTK developpers I have a problem with the setenv command in the Matlab environnement. In fact I don't know why but my version of Matlab doesn't take into account this command. We tried several things including the commands export and system('setenv ...') but it doesn't work. This is a real problem indeed the version 5.6 uses mex versions and I can't get into the Matlab code. Would you have any solution ? Thank you very much by advance with best regards Clothilde |

Dear Boris Thank you very much for your answer. It did work !! Then the other commands are also ok. Just a little remark: for mpf, the --index=[0:n[ command doesn't work but the -i [0:n[ does. Hi Clothilde, It seems to be our bad there. libmptk.so is loaded before the config file (actually, before doing anything else), so the path to it needs to be set at system level. If you don't want to install MPTK in a system directory (such as /usr/local for example), you can patch that using the DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. Check its value using echo $DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH If it's empty, set it to /Users/melot/tmp/MPTK/lib (should be the right path for you) Otherwise, append the path at the end: setenv DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH $DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH:/Users/melot/tmp/MPTK/lib I'm not an OSX specialist, but this should work. Dear Clothilde, There seems to be a problem with your setting of MPTK_CONFIG_FILENAME. The path.xml file is located by default in the bin/ directory, along with mpd. So for you, the right path should be /Users/melot/Documents/matlab/recherche/Matching_Pursuit/MPTK-0.5.6/bin/path.xml (the only difference with yours is the last bin/ subdirectory) The warnings at install came from the double inclusion of some build files. They are harmless, though, and cannot be the source of your problems. They will be corrected in the next release. Hope it will help, Boris |
